Saint Jadwiga of Poland (1373/4 –1399) also known as Hedwig, was the first female monarch of the Kingdom of Poland, reigning from 16 October 1384 until her death. She was known for her goodness and charity work. She was canonization in 1997. Saint Jadwiga of Poland is the patron saint of Brides, Difficult Marriages, Queens and United Europe. St Jadwiga of Poland memorial feast day is July 17th.
