Saint Peregrine Laziosi, an Italian man, dedicated his life to the lord after a profound spiritual experience. He later became a priest and founded a servite house in Forli, Italy. His preaching and devotion to the sick and suffering earned him the nickname "angel of good counsel" as he selflessly shared his wisdom and advice. Despite developing varicose veins and eventually cancer in his left leg, Peregrine continued to stand instead of sit as a sacrifice. However, after a deep prayer session in front of a crucifixion fresco, it is said that Jesus reached down from the cross and touched his leg, miraculously healing him of the cancer. This miraculous cure was confirmed by doctors the next morning, and Peregrine was later canonized by Pope Benedict. He is now known as the patron saint for cancer patients, skin diseases, breast cancer, open sores, sick people, and AIDS patients, with his memorial feast day being May 1st.
