  • Saint Elizabeth of Hungary

Elizabeth was the daughter of the King of Hungary and was involved in an arranged marriage at 13. She frequently tended to the sick and was not approved of by the family of her husband, King Ludwig of Thuringia. When she was banished from the castle after the death of her husband, she gave gifts of bread to the poor, leading to her patronage of bakers. St. Elizabeth of Hungary is the Patron Saint for Bakers and Homeless. Saint Elizabeth Memorial Feast Day is November 17th.
