She met Saint Francis of Assisi, who gave her the veil of religious profession. She founded the order called Poor Clares and strictly adhered to Franciscan rules. St. Clare of Assisi is the Patron Saint for Eyes and Television. Saint Clare Memorial Feast Day is August 11th.
