St. Regina, a martyr from Autun, France, refused to marry the proconsul Olybrius during the second century despite being the daughter of a pagan, Clement. She was tortured and beheaded, and is celebrated as the Patron Saint of torture victims, the poor, and shepherdesses. September 7th is designated as her Memorial Feast Day.
