Saint Brendan the Navigator

Saint Brendan established monasteries and traveled the seas, but little is truthfully known of his voyages. It is said he encountered mermaids and sailed to the Americas, but there is no proof to support the tales. St. Brendan the Navigator is the Patron Saint for Sailors and Mariners. Saint Brendan the Navigator memorial feast day is May 16th.
