She was born a princess in Hungary and was in exile due to the Danish invasion of England. While fleeing the invasion of William the Conqueror her family’s ship wrecked on the coast of Scotland. She married King Malcolm III Canmore of Scotland. She is known for the reforming of the Church of Scotland. She founded the abbeys and worked for justice and improved conditions for the poor. Saint Margaret of Scotland is the patron saint of large families, widows, for learning, against the death of children and Scotland. St Margaret of Scotland memorial feast day is November 16th.
