Saint Alexandra was a closet Christian and the wife of Emperor Diocletian, Empress once came upon a man, Saint George, being punished for proclaiming himself a Christian. She begged the Emperor to let those who believe in Christ free, but he was outraged by her suggestion, ordering her to the same fate as Saint George. Saint Alexandra and her companions were Christians killed for their faith at Amisus, Paphlagonia, during the persecution of the Emperor Diocletian. St Alexandra is the patron saint of Defender of Humanity. Saint Alexandra memorial feast day is March 20th.
