Theodore Stratelates

Saint Theodore Stratelates, also known as Theodore the Heraclea, was a fourth-century Roman General and devout Christian who spread the Gospel while serving as a military commander in the city of Heraclea in Thrace. He was martyred by emperor Licinius after refusing to sacrifice to the Roman gods. St Theodore is the patron saint of soldiers. St. Theodore's feast day is celebrated annually on February 8th.
