Saint Barbara
Saint Barbara, also known as Santa Barbara, was a Christian martyr and patron saint. Her father, who was jealous of her beauty, locked her in a tower. Despite this, she learned about the Faith and was beheaded by her father. Legend says that a clap of thunder was heard and her father was turned to ashes. Saint Barbara is honored as the patron saint of Sudden Death, Prisoners, Architects, Artillerymen, and Mathematicians. Her feast day is celebrated on December 17.
