Our Lady of Mt Carmel, also known as the Virgin of Carmel, is the patron saint of the Carmelite Order. This title was bestowed upon the Blessed Virgin Mary and is derived from the community of Christian hermits who resided on Mount Carmel in the Holy Land during the late 12th and early to mid-13th century.
