The emperor who governed as a saint. St. Henry II — Holy Roman Emperor, co-founder of the Diocese of Bamberg, and one of the few married saints canonized alongside his wife St. Cunigunde — is patron saint of the childless, the handicapped, and Benedictine oblates. He and Cunigunde lived a life of chaste marriage by mutual vow, devoting their reign to the Church and the poor. After his death in 1024, he was canonized in 1146 and remains a model of sanctity in the exercise of political power. He is honored in this beautifully detailed round sterling silver medal, handcrafted from solid .925 sterling silver by skilled American artisans. The medal depicts St. Henry II holding a staff, a symbol of his imperial authority exercised in the service of God and his people.

  • Round St. Henry II medal depicting him holding a staff, in solid .925 sterling silver
  • Die-struck for fine detail
  • Medal dimensions: 0.9" x 0.7" (22mm x 18mm), weight: 3.3 grams

Saint Henry II

Saint Henry II was crowned Holy Roman Emperor in 1014. He tried to store peace in Europe, and succeeded in Germany. He married Saint Cunegunda but never had children, hence his patronage of the childless. St. Henry II is the Patron Saint for the Handicapped and the Childless. Saint Henry II memorial feast day is July 13th.
