Saint Germaine Cousin
Saint Germaine suffered neglect and mistreatment from her father and foster family, often enduring punishment, malnutrition, and false accusations. During one winter, her stepmother falsely accused her of stealing bread, but when Germaine showed her apron, it was filled with summer flowers instead. Despite being seen as a holy woman and invited to live in a better home, Germaine chose to continue living as she had while enduring abuse. St. Germaine Cousin is known as the Patron Saint for the Disabled and Abuse Victims and is honored on her memorial feast day, June 15th.
