Saint Valentine of Rome
Saint Valentine, a 3rd-century Roman saint, is honored in Western Christianity on February 14 and in Eastern Orthodoxy on July 6. Since the High Middle Ages, his Saints' Day has been associated with a tradition of courtly love. St. Valentine of Rome is revered as the Patron Saint of love, engaged couples, protection against fainting and epilepsy, as well as for beekeepers, happy marriages, and protection against the plague. The Feast Day of St. Valentine is celebrated on February 14th.
