The philosopher who died for the truth he found. St. Justin Martyr — a second-century Greek philosopher who converted to Christianity after years of searching through Platonism and Stoicism, and was beheaded for refusing to renounce his faith — is patron saint of philosophers and lecturers. His Apologies and Dialogue with Trypho are among the earliest and most important defenses of the Christian faith, written in the language of Greek philosophy to reach the intellectual world of his day. He is honored in this beautifully detailed round sterling silver medal, handcrafted from solid .925 sterling silver by skilled American artisans. The medal depicts St. Justin holding a scroll and cross, symbols of his twin vocation as scholar and martyr.
