Saint John Neumann

Saint John Neumann was the first male American citizen to be canonized. He was a native of Europe, trying to become a priest in Bohemia. There was an abundance of priests, so Saint John made his way to New York, where there were only 36 priests for the states of New York and New Jersey. He settled in Buffalo and helped build dozens of churches and almost one hundred schools. St John Neumann is the Patron Saint for Catholic Education. Saint John Neumann memorial feast day is January 5th.
