Our Lady of Fatima

Our Lady of Fatima is the title given to the Virgin Mary following her reported apparitions to three young shepherd children—Lúcia dos Santos and her cousins Francisco and Jacinta Marto—near Fátima, Portugal, from May to October 1917. She appeared as a radiant Lady of the Rosary, urging daily prayer of the Rosary, penance, conversion of sinners, and devotion to her Immaculate Heart. The events included the “Three Secrets” and culminated in the Miracle of the Sun (October 13, 1917), witnessed by tens of thousands. The Catholic Church approved the apparitions in 1930, and the site remains one of the world’s major Marian pilgrimage destinations.

Our Lady of Fatima is the Patroness of Peace from War and her memorial feast day is May 13th.
